This project started in early 1993 after I saw the "Eagles" unplugged for their Hell Freezes Over tour. At that time I was playing electric with my Fender Stratocaster. After I saw their MTV show I bought a guitar like Glenn Frye's and started writing my own music.
In the fall of 1995 I began on the recording of our first cd titled, if you will "Hank and the Hankstirs" Vol.1. It was a four song E.P. which I did all the instruments and vocals. By the time of the CD release party in December 1996 I had a band to play live for the release party.

During that time I met another guitar player and he (Joel Underwood) did all the harmonies as well as sharing the rhythm and lead guitar slots on stage. With band members we now started on a new CD.
On April 29th, 1998 we released out second CD called "Hank and the Hankstirs" Vol.2. "It Doesn't Matter". This CD was a full length CD with 10 tracks and one hidden bonus track. The release party was held at "Hermans Hideaway" with a packed house and sold half of our inventory that night. During that time we also did a benefit to raise money for the Denver Safehouse. One of the songs on the new CD was about the loss of my high school girlfriend to domestic violence.
We're now in the process of recording our third CD which is titled "Blues Boy" and will include the current line up of Hankstirs.
